Reliance Bangladesh LNG & Power Limited has celebrated the World Environment Day-2024 on 5th June 24 with the theme “Land restoration, desertification and drought resilience” to make the global campaign #GenerationRestoration successful.
The Company organized tree plantation programs inside the power plant area and participated in the rally organized by the office of District Commissioner- Narayanganj and distributed 775 tree saplings among the stakeholders. Besides, as a part of cleanliness drive, internal cleanliness campaign was organized within the project area.
To create awareness among students and local people, they organized creative garden development competition and tree plantation program in three schools around the Power Plant (Ganganagar Preparatory School, 70 no. Jhauchor Govt. primary School & Holy Child Kindergarten School). Attractive prizes were distributed to encourage the participants in the said competition and program.
The employees of the organization along with the officials from the contractor Samsung C&T Corporation pledged together to upheld environmental conservation as priority, plant trees and restore land, reduce, reuse and recycle to reduce carbon footprint and advocate the importance of greening and protecting nature.
Reliance Bangladesh LNG & Power Limited has developed a 718 MW (Net) capacity combined cycle power plant at Meghnaghat, Sonargaon, Narayanganj. The company has adopted world class technology equipment which will deliver efficient and clean power.
